Ontbijten bij Laduree, het was een heerlijke ervaring. Heel anders dan Plaza Athenee natuurlijk, maar ook zeker niet verkeerd. Ik zie mezelf al helemaal als Parisienne ’s ochtends met mijn MacBookje aankomen om te schrijven onder het genot van een potje thee en een Pain au Chocolat. Rond een uurtje of elf verwen ik mezelf dan met een taartje en om 13.00u lunch ik met een omelet ala Laduree en neem ik misschien nog een Macaronnetje toe.
Genoeg gefantaseerd. Ik als schrijvende Parisienne bij Laduree iedere ochtend, dat zou niet alleen een dure grap worden, maar ook eentje waar ik tonnetje rond van wordt.
Na Laduree wilde ik perse naar Monet, ik had de smaak van de musea te pakken. Maar toen we ons achter aan de rij voor het Grand Palais aansloten zag ik een bordje staan, waar zoiets stond van ‘vanaf hier nog drie uur wachttijd’ het stond er in het Frans, maar ik was er toch aardig zeker van dat dat er stond en aan de niet bewegende rij te zien kon dat ook best wel eens kloppen. Geen Monet dus, jammer helaas, maar wel een reden om snel nog een keer terug te gaan dus.
Na de mislukte Monet liepen we nog een laatste keer over de Tuileries, at ik een Macarron en besloten we dat ons laatste tripje, een tripje naar Montmartre zou worden, naar de Sacre Coeur. Weer vergat ik dat dat op een berg lag, zelfs de naam MONT(e)martre deed geen lichtje bij mij branden. Ik was dus aardig aan mijn eindje toen we uiteindelijk de Sacre Coeur gevonden hadden (ik zou dit keer de wegwijzen, geen succes..)
Maar het was een prachtige afsluiter van vier prachtige dagen. Rond half drie stapten we in de auto, weer vijf uur later waren we thuis. Vijf uur waarin m’n ogen maar dicht bleven vallen, vijf uur waarin ik op zoek was naar een MacDrive omdat ik trek had in een Chocolade Milkshake en die uiteindelijk pas vond bij Rotterdam
