Na het fietsavontuur van de dag ervoor maakten Ash en ik een deal. We zouden de rest van de vakantie NIKS meer doen waar een hoger dan gemiddeld niveau van energie voor nodig zou zijn. Wat we donderdag dan deden? We kookten eitjes, zetten een kopje groene thee, aten wat crackers en liepen rustig naar het zwembad. Ons plan? Van 9.00u tot 19.00u aan het zwembad hangen..
Of onze missie slaagde? Oh natuurlijk. Ik zwom nog wel vijftig baantjes, maar hé in dat kleine badje was dat ook geen kunst hoor. In het babybad hebben we urenlang de rest van de zwembadgangers verveeld door net even iets te enthousiast te beachtennissen. Kijk Beach Tennis is wat mij betreft de meest ideale vakantiesport. Je wordt er absoluut niet moe van, je kunt tussendoor even een heerlijke duik nemen in het koude water en oh ja.. je wordt aan alle kanten bruin. Score.
We aten twee magnums, dronken ijskoude Lipton Ice Tea Green, en bestelden voor de verandering weer eens frietjes met ketchup. Ongegeneerd genieten dus. Tien uur lang.
En daarna was het tijd voor uitgebreide maskertjes, scheerpraktijken en kleur op mijn lippen, aan mijn billen en om mijn nek. Dit is echt zo’n outfit die ik het liefst dagelijks zou dragen. Is er iemand die hier niet vrolijk van wordt?
Zien jullie dat eiland op de foto’s? Dat is dus het Schildpaddeneiland. Ik weet het precieze verhaal niet, maar op dat eiland legt een zeer grote en met uitsterven bedreigde schildpad haar eieren en dat is dan ook een plek die erg goed in de gaten gehouden wordt. Je moet er ook naar toe kunnen met boottochtjes. Maar jullie weten het, na ons fietsavontuur hebben wij wel weer eventjes genoeg avonturen gehad. Wij waren op vakantie om uit te rusten, avonturen zouden we wel weer een andere keer beleven. En daar komt bij, op zo’n boot durven wij onze camera natuurlijk niet mee te nemen en wat hebben we er dan eigenlijk aan ;-).
Maar zien jullie ook dat dat eiland ook een beetje de vorm van een schildpad heeft? Bizar he?!
Na de pasta waren Ash en ik eigenlijk nog wel in voor een cocktail. Maar niet voordat Ash en ik de statief erbij hadden gepakt en onszelf vereeuwigden.
Op slechts vijf minuten lopen vonden we een super gave cocktailbar. We bestelden onze baby mojitos (met extra veel suiker en extra weinig rum). We keken naar de sterren, ik probeerde ze uit de hand vast te leggen met mijn camera. We slurpten aan onze baby mojito en hmmm.. alleen maar genieten natuurlijk.
Maar er moest natuurlijk ook gewerkt worden. En zelfs dat was fijn!
