De eerste echte volledige dag op Zakynthos was zo’n dag waarop helemaal niets moest en alles mocht. We sliepen tot een uurtje of negen, kookten eitjes en aten crackers. We pakten rustig onze strandtassen in en verkasten naar het zwembad, wat echt op nog geen drie minuten lopen vanaf onze voordeur was.
Hoewel de zon niet altijd deed wat we hoopten, winnen van de wolkenvelden, waren we zielsgelukkig. Onder een parasolletje iPod in de oren, de ogen dicht en nog eventjes een paar uur verder slapen. Niks lekkerders dan slapen in het zonnetje onder het genot van je favoriete muziek, toch?
Toen we wakker werden was het tijd voor Magnums, en na een volgend slaapje, inmiddels twee uur later, was het tijd voor zoute frietjes met tomatenketchup. This is the good life. Doen waar je zin in hebt en verder he-le-maal niks. Daar is vakantie voor toch? Mooie is.. Ashley en ik bleken qua ritme volledig op één lijn te zitten, dus aten we twee uur later gewoon nog een cornetto.
Weet je wat nu zo leuk is aan met een vriendinnetje op vakantie gaan met dezelfde passie voor bloggen en foto’s? Prachtige vakantie foto’s. Ik kan me niet herinneren dat ik ooit zoveel mooie foto’s op vakantie gemaakt heb (& al helemaal niet zo veel mooie foto’s van mezelf, als in mooie foto’s.. Niet dat ik mezelf nu mooi noem natuurlijk, althans daar is ook helemaal niks mis mee, toch? Ach we dwalen weer af…)
Op tafel stond er ’s avonds een heerlijke tomaten komkommersalade.. wat nou verschrikkelijke bacterie? We konden ons niet voorstellen dat die bacterie op zo’n klein en schattig eilandje als Zakynthos verdwaald kon raken. Maar eh.. wees niet bang, dit was slechts een side salad. De pasta met tonijn ging ook tot de laatste sliert op!
