Gisteravond leek het nog zo’n fantastisch plan, met de bus van half negen naar Florence, toen vanmorgen om 7.00u mijn wekker ging (ik ken mezelf) was het toch best heftig. Na een half uur durend snoozefest vond ik eindelijk de spirit om m’n tent te verlaten en mezelf enigszins toonbaar te maken. Ik zeg nu enigszins, want m’n huid is nog steeds in opstand en ik ga nu voor het ‘au naturel’ gezicht, omdat ik nu eenmaal niet aan poedertjes doe op vakantie, maar nee deze vakantie gaat niet de boeken in als de vakantie waarin ik me nog nooit zo mooi gevoeld heb.
Goodie, Florence! Ik was elf toen we elkaar ontmoeten en sindsdien ben ik minstens dertig keer terug geweest dus erg spannend was het niet, wel heel erg vertrouwd. De Ponte Vecchio met de verschrikkelijke kitsch juweliertjes, de indrukwekkende dom, David van Michelangelo (de replica!) op het plein waar zich ook Chanel bevindt. De winkelstraat met Tiffany’s, Hermes, Prada & Dior.
We ontbeten bij een koffietentjes / restaurant / wijnbar, Golden view open bar, net naast de Ponte Vecchio. Een cappuccino, een dubbele espresso een panini en een croissant, vijf euro, grazie. Bij Starbucks koop ik daar net een cappuccino voor. Daarna was er een weddenschap met m’n partner in crime, volgens hem zou ik na twaalf jaar Florence nog steeds de weg niet weten. Ik ging daar natuurlijk tegenin, waarop hij zei.. nou vindt die ijswinkel dan maar. Vijf minuten later stonden we zonder geen enkele keer fout gelopen te zijn voor onze favoriete ijswinkel. Ik vond dat ik wel een ijsje verdiend had.
We shopten wat, ik kocht natuurlijk bij ZARA (want dat jurkje zouden ze in Nederland vast niet hebben…..). We zaten op bankjes, genoten van het leven van de stad. En om een uurtje of twaalf was het tijd voor ons favoriete restaurant, Golden view open bar yet again. We zaten heerlijk aan het water, half buiten, half binnen. We dronken wijn (partner) en water (moi), we slurpten oesters en aten tartaar van zalm en tonijn. Hoofdgerecht was een spaghetti vongele (de lekkerste die je ooit zult eten!) en twee desserts, een cheesecake en een chocolade. Espressootje om weer even wakker te worden en toen was het zomaar drieënhalf uur later. Half vier en tijd om terug naar de bus te lopen.
Natuuurrrlijk viel ik in dat half uurtje in de bus in slaap (er gaat geen autorit voorbij dat ik niet in slaap val) en toen ik m’n ogen om een of half vijf open deed waren we al op de camping gearriveerd. Inmiddels zit ik op een stoel te genieten van een steeds verder ondergaande zon. Om me heen is iedereen bezig met de voorbereiding van de barbecue van vanavond..
Ik kan het niet vaak genoeg zeggen maar dit is gewoon vakantie. Niets moeten, alles mogen. Geen zorgen maken over een pasta-sliert die misschien drie calorieën meer bezit dan een blaadje sla, naar bed gaan wanneer ik er zin in heb, opstaan als ik uitgeslapen ben (behalve vanmorgen dan!)..

Heerlijk dit te lezen en de foto’s te zien. Alles zo herkenbaar. Ik ben net terug van mijn stage in Italië die ik begon met 4 weken Florence. Prachtige stad.
Daar wil ik heel graag nog naar toe! En ik kan me je foto’s van vorig jaar nog herinneren! Zelfde restaurant als vorig jaar toch?
Klinkt heerlijk zo’n vakantie! Mijn ouders hebben ook de mentaliteit van ‘niks moeten, alles mogen’ .. maar zij blijven het liefst 14 dagen bij de caravan koekeloeren, dit jaar naar Zeeland, ik ga niet meer mee. Vakantie is voor mij ook dingen zien, dingen doen, shoppen, cultuur snuiven .. Ongeveer wat jij nu aan het doen bent. Doe mij maar zo’n vakantie, heerlijk!

PRECIES hoe ik ook vakantie vier, gezellig met m’n ouders en zusje mee naar mijn favoriete Italiaanse steden.

In 12 dagen hebben we een heel aantal steden afgelopen in Italië.
We hebben de stad leren kennen aan de hand van een stadsspel;
onze groepje was een van de twee groepen die fanatie meededen.
Met als resultaat dat wij wonnen. Een leuk Leonardo da Vinci t-shirt als beloning. :)

Heerlijk! Op vakantie vind ik het ook heerlijk om lekker rond te struinen in de natuur of in een stad, ook al is af en toe een dagje bij de caravan ook geen straf. Maar veertien dagen lang, nee. Dat wordt saai en daarvoor kan ik niet genoeg boeken meenemen. ;)
